From Carlisle, follow the A595 for Cockermouth continuing towards Whitehaven and Barrow. Alternatively leave the M6 at Penrith and follow the A66 west towards Workington, then the A595 south to Whitehaven and Barrow. There is a signposted right turn for Ravenglass. Follow the road down through the village. Where the road turns away from the seafront, the Pennington can be seen ca 50m ahead on the left, beyond the Inn At Ravenglass and Rosegarth Guesthouse. Follow the road round to the village car park where the entrance to the hotel car park can be found at the rear of the building. The journey from Carlisle should take about an hour and a half.

Leave the M6 Motorway at junction 36.
Follow the signs for Barrow-in-Furness on the A590. Before you get to Barrow, turn right at Greenodd onto the A5092 and follow this road for Workington and Whitehaven. This road joins the A595 which will bring you to the Ravenglass junction. When you have passed Muncaster Castle's entrances and main car park, here is a signposted left turn for Ravenglass.
