Quietly located in 6 acres of mature gardens sweeping down to the River Calder, Sella Park Country House Hotel is a historic property dating from the 16th Century. The Ceremony

You can hold your Civil Ceremony within the main hotel, The Copeland Room, or set within the grounds using the Romantic Gazebo with the back drop of roaming tree topped mountains and the River Calder.  With seating for up to 50 guests, the Copeland Room provides an elegant setting for your big day.  With Tudor windows over looking the garden, the room is decorated with flower displays to enhance the setting.

After months of planning and choosing the dress, decorations, suits and more, why not add that extra sparkle to the main ceremony itself by choosing our garden Gazebo.  The Gazebo in the gardens can hold a Civil Ceremony and with it's views down the bank to the River Calder, it is a truly romantic setting for the big event.

The Wedding Breakfast

The extensive gardens can house a Marquee for up to two hundred guests and can accommodate a bar and dance floor for the all-important first dance.  With solid flooring, lining and heating (if required) the marquee will be elegantly set for your needs.  If you would like to further decorate the marquee, we can discuss this with you when you visit us so that we can help liaise with the florist, balloon specialist or decorator you choose to ensure your setting will be as you want it. 

The Priory Restaurant is an elegant Tudor Dining Room which can comfortably accommodate up to fifty guests for smaller Weddings and can be further enhanced with floral and table decorations to add that extra touch.  Again, we'll be happy to discuss your ideas with you and to liaise with your choice of decorator.  For the evening reception, a DJ can be housed in either the Priory Restaurant or within the Marquee.

The Copeland Room can also be reset to seat up to 40 guests after the Civil Ceromony and so whilst your photographer is capturing the event and family portraits, we'll set the room up ready for the wedding breakfast.

Accommodation

Sella Park Country House Hotel currently has 11 rooms (soon to be 16) including the Briad Suite.  Housing a large and luxurious 4 poster bed in this stunning room, you'll be able to enjoy your day without the worry of travelling.  Your guests can also enjoy the day by staying with us at Sella Park or, for larger parties, we have our sister hotel, The Pennington Hotel, just a few miles away in Ravenglass.  The beautifully decorated 16th century coaching inn provides an additional base for you or your guests to relax and enjoy the day.  We also have Muncaster Castle's Coachman's Quarters B&B with 10 rooms that can be taken as a block for wedding parties or the self catering holiday cottages.  With so much choice, we're able to help provide you with everything you need for your romantic Lake District wedding.
