Muncaster Castle - Home to the World Owl Centre with more than 200 birds of prey on display, the daily 'Meet the Birds' display is not to be missed (2.30pm daily until 2 November) The extensive woodland gardens, 'The Gateway to paradice' (Ruskin) provides you with several miles of walks to enjoy or you can take in the centuries of history in the magnificent Castle itself (open Sunday-Friday until 2nd November) and as one of the most haunted buildings in the country, dare you do a 'Ghost Tour' (available during October half-term week)

Fishing... - Being on the Lake District coast, there are a number of places to enjoy the relaxing sport of fishing. If you're a guest at Sella Park Country House Hotel, you can just walk down to the river Calder in the gardens of the hotel. Even better, the Chef will cook anything you catch for your evening meal!
Golf...With a little known selection of local courses, you'll be perfectly placed to enjoy the magic of the Lake District and coast with some of these fantastic locations. As a guest, you can also get discounted rounds at the Eskdale Golf Course which nestles below Scafell Pike, Englands Highest Mountain. Please ask for details when making your booking.

Active breaks...With the start of Wainwrigths famous Coast to Coast walk (St Bees) just up the road and being nestled a few miles from Wastwater (Britain's Favourite View) and Scafell Pike, there's no better place to take in the wonders of this area.
